Our actions
French Mentoshirp Program
The 50/50 Mentorship Program is a 6-month matchmaking and support initiative connecting young individuals with established professionals in the film and audiovisual industry. The aim is to establish a privileged relationship with someone established in the desired field to better understand their future career path.
The program primarily targets female profiles and young people from modest backgrounds and/or facing challenges related to their profile in their professional integration project.
Each pair, consisting of a mentee and a mentor, regularly meets (coffee, video, or phone) to discuss the following topics:
- Developing their professional project
- Gathering the mentor’s experience on their career path and practical information about the reality of a profession
- Obtaining advice in their search for internships, apprenticeships, or jobs
- Expanding their network
- Navigating towards further studies or training
- Feeling supported in their professional integration journey
The mentor also commits to providing an “immersion” experience in their professional environment by inviting the mentee to their workplace or specific events (e.g., film sets, festivals, film commissions).
European Mentorship Program
The initiative
In 2024, our association, Collectif 50/50, in collaboration with the Portuguese association Mutim, both committed to equality and inclusion in cinema and audiovisual media, launched a mentoring program for emerging directors with a short or feature film project, with the support of the Erasmus+ program.
The objective
To promote the sharing of know-how (both for us, the associations behind the project, and for the beneficiaries) by facilitating the integration of women and gender minorities into the industry, while strengthening synergies at the European level for a more inclusive sector.
2025…
The next session will be held in partnership with a Spanish association!
50/50 bible
The 50/50 bible platform went online in November 2019.
This professional directory in favour of equality and inclusion aims to bring about concrete change behind the camera.
Talents, from diverse social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds are able to gain visibility through this platform, as a way to escape discrimination and determinism.
As for recruiters, they can easily access mixed and gender-balanced technical and artistic teams, going beyond usual practices and prejudices.
The platform is free and reserved exclusively for industry professionals.
Parity bonus
Since January 1st 2019, the CNC has implemented the measure presented at the first Conference of the Collectif 50/50 held in September 2018.
This 15% mobilised cinema support bonus is intended to combat the inequalities observed between the careers of women and men. It aims films with gender-balanced teams, whether the production is in the hands of a man or a woman. It takes the form of a grid of points, determining the level of parity within crews.
Cannes Film Festival
Each year, the Collectif 50/50 organises several discussion sessions and participates in numerous round tables on issues of equality and inclusion during the Cannes Film Festival.
Festivals
Throughout the year, the Collectif 50/50 is invited to participate in round tables and events at French and international festivals to discuss issues of equality and inclusion such as the Berlinale, Poitiers Film Festival, Dakar Series…

Trainings against sexist & sexual violences
On the employers’ side: CNC funding is conditional on attending a half-day awareness session on sexual and gender-based violence for employers in exhibition, distribution, and production.
Today, almost all company managers have completed this training.
For everyone present on set: Since January 1, 2025, CNC production support is conditional— for companies requesting it—on the film crew’s completion of mandatory training in the prevention of and fight against SGBV. This training is provided and funded by AFDAS.
More in-depth training: All employees and freelance workers in the audiovisual sector can access more substantial training sessions, lasting one to three days: to deepen their understanding of the tools, to define an internal prevention protocol, or to take on the role of sexual and gender-based violence contact person.
The White Book

Summit against harassment and sexual violence
Collectif 50/50 gathered the profession (through trade unions and professional organisations) on Wednesday March 4th 2020, at the Fémis school, in the framework of the Summit against harassment and sexual violence in the film and the audiovisual industry. The Summit was an opportunity to share and compare existing initiatives and to engage in a process of collective thought regarding new tools and means of prevention and action.

The White Book – All Actors of Change
The Collectif brought the entire industry together including trade unions, professional organisations and professional associations during the Summit against sexual violence and harassment in the film and audiovisual sector, March 4th 2020 at the Fémis school, to communicate on the initiatives already in place, to think about new ways of prevention and action, and to work collectively to implement a “toolbox” for awareness-raising, prevention and fight against violence and harassment.

CharactHer campaign
Gender equality in the European film and media industries is still far from being achieved – in addition to the obstacles women may encounter throughout their careers, a well-known factor for these persistent imbalances resides in the fact that certain sectors are still considered to be predominantly or exclusively “masculine”. The impact of such views has sustained widespread practice of self-censorship, discouraging some young women from pursuing a wide panel of jobs. The CharactHer campaign aims at debunking these stereotypes: there is no such thing as a “masculine” job – women can do anything!

Collectif 50/50 at 2021 Cannes Film Festival
In 2021, the Collectif 50/50 was at the Cannes Film Festival to organize two panels, to launch the CharactHer campaign, to meet “sister” associations, partners and other people during the 50/50 cocktails, to record the SheCannes podcasts…
